It is very important that every competitor read and understand the rules for their division. It is also imperative that every competitor read and understand track procedures. Questions regarding rules or procedures should be addressed to the Main Office at 902.481.2514.

Please note: Only Technical Rules found on www.scotiaspeedworld.ca can be deemed the most current and official set of regulations. Copies of our Technical Rules found on other websites could be outdated.

Access to the Scotia Speedworld pits is restricted to those 16 years of age and older, expect for the Bandolero teams. Insurance requirements require a Parental Consent form be on file for every minor who enters the pits. In addition every minor must sign a Minor Participant waiver on race day when entering the pits. Truck Division

Sportsman cars are built on the frame of a domestic passenger car. This is a cost-efficient, yet fast and very competitive class, that runs on a treaded race tire. They have eight cylinder engines.

Sportsman

These trucks are built with eight cylinder Chevrolet 305 cu. in. engines, automatic transmissions, and are modified for safety. With drivers moving over from the defunct Hobby Stocks, excitement is guaranteed.

Lightning Division

This popular entry-level class has grown in leaps and bounds since its inception. In 2003, we split the division with Thunder Cars featuring the dominant Hondas and Volkswagens. The remaining brands compete in the Lightning division.
Thunder Cars and Lightning cars are four cylinder streetcars with safety modifications.

Bandolero Division

The Bandolero Car is a turnkey, spec-series racer designed for drivers eight to 16 years old. A thumping Briggs & Stratton 570cc Vanguard engine mounted behind the driver provides the Bandolero Car’s motivation.

Legends Division

Legends are 5/8-scale fiberglass full-fendered version of the famed NASCAR modifieds. Powered by Yamaha 1,200cc engines, weighing just 1,300 lbs, these cars provide plenty of action.
