(Halifax, NS. June 1, 2017) Scotia Speedworld’s CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series returns to its usual Friday night at 7:00pm timeslot this Friday June, 2nd.  Five Weekly Racing Series divisions will see action under the lights including the Affordable Fuels Sportsman. If you purchased tickets via Groupon you must present your electronic Groupon confirmation either printed or on your device. $5 admission is valid Friday, June 2nd only. The CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series got off to a roaring start on May 21st during the traditional Sunday afternoon season opener. Travis Roma (West Chezzetcook) held off a hard charging Jordan Veinotte (Porter's Lake) for the win in the Affordable Fuels Sportsman feature and the two are expected to battle all season long for the championship. Scott Thibodeau (Williamswood) of the Toursec Lightning division and five-time champion Dan Smith (Lower Sackville) in a Pulse Heavy Duty Truck kicked off their season in familiar territory as they took the checkered flag in their respective divisions two weeks ago.

Visiting driver Riley Halverson (Kannapolis, NC) was the winner in the Strictly Hydraulics Legends division on opening day and Tim Webster (Beaver Bank) won his first Toursec Thunder race at the track since 2013. Webster's car will be at the Speedworld Friday with Kyle Gammon (Mount Uniacke) at the helm to defend the point lead.

Scotia Speedworld hosts fantastic stock car racing action every Friday night all summer! General admission tickets are $15.00 for adults; youth tickets (8-15 years) are just $5.00 and children 7 and under are admitted for FREE all season at Scotia Speedworld!
