The future of Scotia Speedworld and racing within Atlantic Canada comes from the Hydraulics Plus Bandolero division. Alumni have gone on to accomplish major victories in Legend, Sportsman and Pro Stock cars, cumulating with Cole Butcher’s 2016 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Championship season. Considered one of the highest forms of short track racing in this country, the Porter’s Lake driver began his career in 2006 at Scotia Speedworld in the Hydraulics Plus Bandolero division and would go on to win the track championship in 2010. Many of the alumni of the class have gone on to run in Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour races, including series Rookie of the Year winners DJ Casey (Prospect Road) and Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro).
With well over a dozen youngsters from eight to 16 years old ready to strap in this summer with the ultimate goal in mind to etch their names into history as champions, like sophomore Sam Rogers (Outlaw; Lower Onslow) and Nathan Langille (Bandit; Coldbrook) did in 2016. Last season saw the addition of the Beginner Bandit division for newcomers to the sport to hone their skills. Tyler Hutchinson (Onslow) was crowned champion of the Beginner Bandit class.

The first race for the Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros in 2017 will take place during the CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series Opener on Sunday, May 21st at 2:00pm.
