HYDRAULICS pLUS nIGHT Up Next For Weekly Racing Series

(Halifax, NS. July 12, 2012) Scotia Speedworld’s Weekly Racing Series returns this Friday for Hydraulics Plus Night! Racing under the lights this week will be; the Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros, ACE Lumbermart Thunder and Lightning, Strictly Hydraulics Legends and the Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman series. Adult admission for the Weekly Racing Series is just $12.00; Youth (8-15) are $2.00 and children 7 and under are free…all summer long! Tickets are available at the gate on race day. Grandstand gates open at 5:00 PM with racing action slated to get underway at 7:00 PM.

Leading the way on Friday are the Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros. Chipman, New Brunswick’s Cole Boudreau (#00 State Farm Bandolero) leads the field and is one of only three feature winners this season, sharing victory lane with Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake) and Adam Meehan (Rawdon). Boudreau leads the standings by 14 points over Butcher with Cole Tanner (Shubenacadie) just ten points behind Butcher. Braden Langille (Shubenacadie) and Luke Ettinger (Kennetcook) complete the top five in points.

The Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman Series has been Aaron Boutilier’s (#4 CARSTAR Collision Centre Ford Fusion) playground this season. Minus a rear end failure on the second week, the Porter’s Lake native has finished on the podium in each event this season. Those four podium finishes include three wins and consequently the point lead by 32 points over Jordan Veinotte (Porter’s Lake). This Championship race is far from over though with Phil Barkhouse Jr. (Beaverbank), Larry Fisher (Porter’s Lake) and Mike Banks (Wilmot) on his bumper in the standings.

As dominant as Boutilier has been in the Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman Series, his point lead isn't as large as Jorden Smith's (Lakeside, #144 Rent A Centre Dodge Neon) is in the ACE Lumbermart Lightning class. Smith holds a whopping 51 point lead on Mike Brown (Urbania) but has not been to victory lane lately as Elmsdale’s Richie Moore has captured the last two features. The ACE Lumbermart Lightning division has been getting the biggest car counts of the season with over 20 cars taking the green flag in each event in 2012.

The Strictly Hydraulics Legend division has seen rising star Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, #5 Atlantic Tiltload Legend) rise to the top of the division at the midway point of the season. The 16-year old has a 29 point lead over former series champion Paul Blenkhorn of Truro. Derek MacCallum won last week’s main feature and you better believe the Lower Sackville native, along with more than a dozen others, will be gunning for the feature win on Friday.

One of the most entertaining battles this season has taken place in the ACE Lumbermart Thunder class. Division veteran Kyle MacMillan (Hammonds Plains, #5 Scotia Tire Wyse Road Honda Civic) now has the point lead by ten points over 2010 division champion Steve Lively of Shubenacadie. Drew MacEachern (Dartmouth) is holding down third in points while Dwayne Flemming (Shubenacadie) sits just a couple points back. Andrew Cluett, (Kennetcook) who won the main feature last week, finds himself fifth in the standings and still in championship chase.
