Twins Night Brings Extended Features to Scotia Speedworld(Halifax, NS – July 14, 2010) After rain forced the cancellation of last week’s races, Scotia Speedworld is looking forward to getting back on the track for Twins Night this Friday, July 16th. Only four divisions will be racing at the 3/10 mile oval with the Tirecraft Thunders and Lightnings both running extended length 50 lap features. To celebrate the pair of 50 lap races, twins will receive free admission to the Grandstands! Proof of ID required. Gates open at 5:00 pm; racing gets underway at 7:00 pm. The racing action will be fierce as the best four cylinder racers in the Maritimes take to the track. So far in the Tirecraft Thunder division there have been four winners in four different races and in the 2009 contest we saw a photo finish when the checkered flag was thrown. In the Tirecraft Lightning Division, the Neons have been center stage so far, but there are many others itching for a win. Russell Smith Jr is currently atop the point standings and is also the defending champion of the 50 lapper from 2009. Also racing with the Tirecraft divisions this week are the Hydraulics Plus Bandolero Division and the Truck Division. Admission for the Weekly Racing Series is $12.00 for adults; $2.00 for youth aged 8-15; children 7 and under are admitted free. Twins are also admitted free on Friday, July 16th. Proof of ID required. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $15.00 and restricted to those 16 and older. Tickets are available at the gate on race day.
