Kiddie Rides Set to Ring in Summer at Scotia Speedworld(Halifax, NS, June 16, 2009) Scotia Speedworld’s Weekly Racing Series returns this Friday, June 19th. This week’s featured 5 divisions include; Sojourn Signs Bandoleros, Miller Tire Lightning cars, Lockhart Truck Center Hobby Stocks, Legends and the C&R Auto Supply Sportsman. Racing is set to start at 7:00pm, main gates open at 5:00pm and the Strictly Hydraulics pits open at 4:00pm.HALIFAX, NS (June 25, 2009) – With the Summer season officially starting this week, wouldn’t it be nice to take a ride in a racecar? Well, this Friday, June 26 kids will get the chance to do just that! That’s right, it’s Kiddie Rides Night at Scotia Speedworld again! Alongside the fun, we will also see great racing action from the following five divisions: Sojourn Signs Bandoleros, Miller Tire Thunder and Lightning cars, Lockhart Truck Center Hobby Stocks, and the C&R Auto Supply Sportsman cars. Kiddie Rides are set to start at 7:00pm, with racing to start right after. Main gates open at 5:00pm and the Strictly Hydraulics pits open at 4:00pm. For the past several years, Kiddie Rides have been a summer highlight for many children! Racers from each of four divisions (C&R Auto Supply Sportsman, Lockhart Truck Center Hobby Stocks, and Miller Tire Thunder & Lightning Cars) will bring their racecars to the front stretch and park. The gate is then opened so the children can pick the car they want a ride in. Once the kids are securely inside the cars the Forbes Chevrolet pace car will lead the cars around the track for a few laps of fun! Admission for the Weekly Racing Series is $12.00 for adults; $2.00 for youth aged 8-15; children 7 and under are admitted free. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $15.00 and restricted to those 16 and older. Tickets are available at the gate on race day. SSW is the only venue in Nova Scotia to host a weekly racing series, which runs May through September and features six different classes of racecars.
